Special Counsel Brian Sylvester was quoted in a Food Quality & Safety article, “Senate Bill Takes Aim at Cell-Cultured Food Labeling,” about legislation aimed at adding new rules around food products created using animal cell-culture technology.
Sylvester said he agrees with the approach taken by federal regulators when it comes to food tech, who for years have accommodated new innovations into the existing regulatory framework. “It affords developers the predictability and regulatory certainty that is needed for any early-stage technology,” he said.
