Ross Honored as "Fabulous First" by Madison Community Foundation's A Fund For Women
MADISON, WIS. – Foley announced today that Anne E. Ross will be honored by Madison Community Foundation’s A Fund For Women (AFFW) as the first woman partner in Madison at an international law firm.
Ross is one of the founding members of AFFW created 14 years ago by 100 women who donated $1,000 each to the Fund, which provides grants to women and girls in the Madison community that enhance education, employment and self-esteem. Last year, the Fund’s permanent endowment bypassed the $1 million mark and is now focused on reaching the $2 million level.
“We are delighted to recognize Anne Ross for her accomplishment as a ’Fabulous First.’ As a charter member of A Fund For Women, Anne has been dedicated to the Fund’s mission and has always served as a strong supporter of women’s issues,” said Jan Gietzel, director of development for A Fund For Women.
Ross is one of seven women being honored as a “Fabulous First” this year at AFFW’s Annual Event and Fundraiser on October 10 at the Monona Terrace Convention Center. In addition, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services, East Madison Community Center, Freedom, Inc., Girl Scouts of Blackhawk Council, Goodman Atwood Community Center, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, The Simpson Street Free Press and the YWCA will be recognized at the reception and will share in a total of $100,000 in grants.
In addition to her role with AFFW, Ross was named managing partner of Foley’s Madison office and recognized as a “Woman of Distinction” by the Madison YWCA in 2007.
