Gardere Partner Ronald Gaswirth Joins Texas A&M's Center for Retailing Studies Advisory Board
Dallas attorney Ronald Gaswirth, head of the Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP Retail Industry Team, has been named to the advisory board of the Center for Retailing Studies at Texas A&M University.
"The Center for Retailing Studies is widely respected as a leading source of industry knowledge, and I'm honored to be a member of the advisory board," says Mr. Gaswirth. "This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the school and bring a focused legal perspective to the great work they are already doing."
Mays Business School at Texas A&M was the first business school in the nation to make a formal commitment to retailing education. Since the Center opened in 1983, more than 2,300 students have completed coursework, internships and leadership programs that have prepared them for professional careers in retailing, making the program one of the largest in the nation.
The Center hosts the annual Retailing Summit, which is widely regarded as the best conference serving the continuing education needs of retailing executives. Addressing broad, but timely, topics, the Summit outlines practical solutions for business success, engaging with customers and employees, understanding changing trends, marketing strategy, financial planning and much more.
In addition to leading Gardere's Retail Industry Team, Mr. Gaswirth is the founding partner of the Firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group. He regularly handles all types of employment law cases, including both individual and class action discrimination litigation in both state and federal courts. He also represents clients in related Department of Labor matters, including OSHA, Wage and Hour and OFCCP. A former Regional Solicitor of the U.S. Department of Labor, he also advises employers on employment-related union issues.
