Foley Partner Michael Matthews was quoted in an article that appeared in the Tampa Bay Business Journal on August 26, 2011 titled “U.S. Attorney’s Office Seen as ‘Diligent’ on Prosecuting Crime.” Matthews discusses the increase in white collar prosecutions in the Tampa Bay area, stating that compliance programs are becoming increasingly important in dealing with and preventing white collar crimes. He adds that an increasing number of cases brought in accordance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act should remind international companies of the importance of compliance.
