Kilman Named a Businessman to Watch in 2011
Foley is pleased to announce that the Orlando Business Journal has named Jonathan Kilman, partner in the Orlando office, as one of its 10 Businessmen to Watch in 2011. The publication compiles this distinguished list in recognition of Central Florida professionals who have achieved significant accomplishments within their industries while positively influencing their local communities.
As a member of Foley’s Government & Public Policy Practice, Mr. Kilman has utilized his experience as an attorney and advocate to influence positive changes in Orlando and throughout Florida. He negotiated and lobbied to pass legislation that created a tax credit incentive for Florida’s film and digital media industries, resulting in the creation of new jobs throughout Florida and greatly helping Orlando in its efforts to build a world-class digital media cluster. Mr. Kilman has also introduced destination resorts, a multi-billion economic opportunity for the state of Florida, as a serious topic in Tallahassee.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Kilman is heavily invested in community involvement within Central Florida. He has leveraged his knowledge of the regulatory process to help organizations including the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and Roth Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando navigate governmental issues. Mr. Kilman was also an early board member of “Guys with Ties,” an Orlando-based non-profit organization that raises money for various non-profits throughout Central Florida, including the American Heart Association, Kids House of Seminole and the Victim Service Center of Orange County.
