Partner Peter Vogel Featured in Dallas News Discussing 'Big Bangs' of the Internet
25 February 2014
The Dallas Morning News featured Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Internet, eCommerce and Technology Team and law professor at Southern Methodist University, as he discussed his development of what he calls the "Six Big Bangs of the Internet." This fall, he'll add a seventh: "artificial intelligence." According to Mr. Vogel, big bangs are events that change the direction of the world, but at the time, they may seem relatively unimportant.
"Artificial intelligence is the next big bang," Mr. Vogel said. "I just don't know when we're going to see the full impact. It allows technology to help make decisions for us, à la 2001: A Space Odyssey and HAL."
