Law Technology News spoke with Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Firm's Internet, eCommerce and Technology Team, about ways to protect client data from cyberattacks on cloud-based applications, such as Dropbox. Mr. Vogel offered the following tips:
- Rely on IT leaders or outside IT consultants to help identify technology weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
- Engage outside consultants to validate and test (and repair) IT and cloud security.
- Continually test for new cyberattacks, viruses, system weakness.
- Move quickly to change IT/cloud when malware or cyberattacks occur.
