Partner Scott Fredericksen was quoted in a Washington Post article published on May 20, 2014, titled “Judge in McDonnell Case Won’t Throw Out Corruption Charges or Allow Separate Trials.” The article discussed a recent decision made by U.S. District Judge James R. Spencer in which he declined to dismiss federal corruption charges against former Virginia Governor Robert F. McDonnell and his wife, ordering that proceedings move ahead toward a single jury trial. Fredericksen was quoted saying, “I think these arguments will have real traction on appeal, ultimately, if there’s a conviction.”
