Foley Provides Legal Counsel to New Health Care Transformation Task Force
03 February 2015
Foley & Lardner LLP is providing legal counsel to the Health Care Transformation Task Force, a new private-sector alliance recently launched to expedite changes in health care payment models to focus more on improving quality of care and lowering costs.
The Task Force is comprised of several of the nation’s largest health care systems and payers, as well as purchasers and patients. In announcing its formation, the coalition challenged other providers and payers to also commit to putting 75 percent of their businesses into value-based arrangements that focus on achieving better health, better care and lower costs by 2020.
As primary legal counsel to the Task Force, Foley assisted with legal and operational issues related to the formation of the organization. The firm will continue to provide legal support as the coalition implements its goals and develops recommendations for transitioning to a values-based approach for health care payments and away from a traditional fee-for-service model.
