Foley & Lardner LLP was awarded the inaugural John R. Hamilton Law Firm Award of Excellence, presented by the Board of Trustees of the Orange County Bar Association’s Legal Aid Society. Foley received the award based on the firm’s contributions of both time and skill to assist the less fortunate in the Orange County, Fla. community through the Legal Aid Society. For example, Foley lawyers serve as guardians ad litem for dozens of abused and neglected children, provide legal assistance to wounded veterans in need of medical care, and are active in the “i-Dignity” program, which helps homeless people obtain important identification documents necessary to obtain employment and various benefits to which they are entitled.
This award is in memory of the late Foley partner John Hamilton, whose commitment to pro bono service was unparalleled. His dedication to the Legal Aid Society changed lives and helped secure justice. The award was presented on May 28, 2015 at the Orange County Bar Association Annual Installation Dinner.
