Foley attorney Michael Schultz has been named one of the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40 – Class of 2015 by the LGBT Bar Association. This national recognition honors LGBT legal professionals under the age of 40 who have distinguished themselves in their field, while demonstrating a profound commitment to LGBT equality.
Schultz, a business law associate in the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice group in Foley’s Boston office, was selected for his efforts advancing LGBT equality within the legal and business community. He is an active member of the firm’s LGBTA affinity group and plays a prominent role in its diversity recruiting, conducting interviews on law school campuses and at Lavender Law, as well as mentoring LGBT summer associates. Within the local community, Schultz is a founding member and co-chair of the steering committee of the Boston chapter of StartOut, a national organization dedicated to supporting the needs of entrepreneurs in the LGBT community. He also works pro-bono for the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) as well as represents a number of LGBT startup clients.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Mike. Mike is an enthusiastic proponent of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and is making a lasting and positive impact on the LGBT and firm-wide community here at Foley and in the business world in general. We are proud to have him on our team,” said Eileen Ridley, Foley’s chief diversity & inclusion partner.
