Dallas Morning News Covers Gardere's 24th Annual MLK Jr. Oratory Competition
The Dallas Morning News covered the 24th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Semifinal Competition at Dallas ISD’s Ada Williams Auditorium on Dec. 8. Approximately 135 fourth- and fifth-grade students participated in this year’s competition, with 15 students advancing to the semifinals. The participants presented original speeches addressing the question, “What would Dr. King say in his campaign speech if he were running for president this year?”
Eight students were selected by judges to the finalist round of the competition to be held on Jan. 15 at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas.
