Patino Quoted on Triple Damages SCOTUS Case

Partner Jose Patino was quoted in a Fortune article, “What Should the Supreme Court Do About Punch-Packing Triple Damages?” on February 23, 2016. The article discussed two patent cases currently before the U.S. Supreme Court examining enhanced damages or “triple damages” that often occur in patent cases judgments. Patino said the Court is likely to try to find a middle ground to avoid opening the floodgates to triple damages claims. He was quoted saying, “I think what will happen is the court will change the rule and modify the existing approach but there won’t be a wholesale abandonment of it like there was in Octane.”
