Foley Supports Health Care Transformation Task Force in Value-Based Milestone

Foley is pleased to support the Health Care Transformation Task Force (HCTTF), a consortium of patients, payers, providers and purchasers which has announced significant milestone towards its goal of transforming the U.S. health care system. A recent Task Force survey confirmed that 41 percent of its provider and payer members’ business were in value-based payment arrangements toward its goal of putting 75 percent of its providers and payer members’ business into value-based arrangements by 2020.

“This substantial progress toward our goal demonstrates the Task Force members’ commitment to accelerating the transformation to a value-based payment models that improve care and lower costs,” said Task Force Executive Director Jeff Micklos. “While much work remains, Task Force members have built momentum over the past year that sets a positive tone as they move toward the goal of 75 percent in Triple Aim-based, value-based care arrangements by 2020.”

As primary legal counsel to the Task Force, Foley provides legal support as the coalition implements its goals and develops recommendations for transitioning to a value-based approach for health care payments and away from a traditional fee-for-service model. In addition, the firm assisted with legal and operational issues related to the formation of the organization.
