Partner Jennifer Belveal has been named to Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2016 Women in the Law list. The annual list recognizes 30 outstanding women in Michigan’s legal community who have excelled in the practice of law, are accomplished leaders and mentors and have contributed significant time to volunteerism and pro bono efforts.
Belveal has extensive experience in both white-collar work and civil defense, having handled more than 50 trials, arbitrations and preliminary examinations over the last two decades. Throughout her career, Belveal has worked tirelessly to advocate for issues important to women, including designing some of the first law firm maternity and flex-time policies. She also serves as a co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Women in White Collar sub-committee and is a member of the Detroit Public Television Board of Trustees. In addition, Belveal has been a longstanding mentor to female attorneys and draws upon her experiences as a woman, mother and lawyer to provide guidance on successfully integrating work and personal lives.
Belveal, along with the other individuals in the 2016 class, will be honored at the seventh annual luncheon and awards on September 15, 2016 at the Detroit Marriott Troy. For more information and a complete list of the Women in the Law Class of 2016, visit Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
