Texas Lawyer spoke with Holland N. O’Neil, chair of Gardere’s board of directors, about the firm’s 2016 fiscal year performance, which ended March 31, 2017. The publication discussed the firm’s $151.5 million in gross revenue, an increase of 1.7 percent from 2015. The strong performance is attributed to the real estate, hospitality and bankruptcy practice groups, as well as the global supply network industry team.
“The positive financials came in a year when the firm incurred expenses for a new office in Denver that opened in early 2016, and the major relocation of the Dallas office to the newly constructed McKinney & Olive building in Uptown Dallas,” said O’Neil. “I was [also] pleased to not really see a drop-off in M&A transactions or litigation. It’s been very steady.”
The publication also attributed the firm’s successful year to the addition of five international trade lawyers in the firm’s Mexico City office, the launch of the cybersecurity and privacy legal services team, and the launch of the venture capital and emerging business group.
