NBC Chicago Interviews Gills about Thurgood Marshall Film, Lack of Diversity in Law
Partner Jeanne Gills was interviewed for an NBC Chicago story, “New Thurgood Marshall Movie Shines Light on Lack of Diversity in Law,” about a new biographical film of Thurgood Marshall. Gills, a founding member of the Chicago Black Partner Alliance, told NBC Chicago that the film also raises awareness of the lack of diversity in the profession.
Foley & Lardner was a sponsor of a private screening of the film, which had numerous legal professionals in attendance, as well as students and teachers from Legal Prep Charter Academy in Chicago.
“Some of the things [Marshall] fought for – 50 years ago – we’re still fighting for today,” said Gills. “I hope [the film] inspires a new generation of people to be lawyers,” she continued.
