Associate Chelsey Metcalf was featured in a BizTimes Milwaukee article, “Next Generation of Donors Wants to Give Time, Not Just a Check,” about her involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.
Metcalf, who has spearheaded a mock trial event for the Boys & Girls Club for the past two years and is on the organization’s young professional board, first became involved with the Boys & Girls Club in 2016 when she attended a Celebrating GIRLS event. “I was just totally blown away by what the Boys & Girls Club was helping these young women do,” she said. That’s where she found the mock trial event.
Metcalf also pushed back against the popular assumption that millennials are only willing to give time rather than money due to the debt many carry. “I think there is a preference for being involved, but I don’t think it’s accurate that millennials don’t give,” she said. “I know friends who have very little disposable income that still find ways to give to causes they’re passionate about.”
