Lacktman Discusses VA Telemedicine House Vote with Modern Healthcare

Partner Nate Lacktman was quoted in a Modern Healthcare article, “House Votes to Ease VA Telemedicine Restrictions,” about the House passing the Veterans E-Health and Telemedicine Support Act of 2017, which creates the ability for VA health care providers to expand their telemedicine services to patients across state lines. Patients can currently only receive telemedicine care when they’re in the state where the telemedicine provider is licensed.
Lacktman said the bill will allow the VA to increase overall access to telemedicine. “Success within the VA program under the VETS Act might stoke interest in other options for seamless delivery of medical services across multiple states,” he said.
