As part of its 12th Annual Turnaround Awards, The M&A Advisor has recognized Gardere for its role in the ValuePart bankruptcy. The firm was honored in the Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year category for a matter valued at more than $25 million and less than $100 million. Gardere financial restructuring and reorganization partner Marcus Helt and associate Thomas C. Scannell worked on the matter.
“The award winners represent the best of the distressed investing and reorganization industry in 2017 and earned these honors by standing out in a group of very impressive candidates,” said David Fergusson, co-CEO and president of The M&A Advisor. “In an environment that is increasingly demanding of its professionals we have recognized the leading transactions, firms and individuals that represent the highest levels of performance.”
Helt has a national debtor-focused bankruptcy practice, primarily comprising the restructuring of companies in and out of bankruptcy, debtors' rights, debtor-in-possession financers, and acquisitions of distressed assets and companies.
Recently recognized as one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas Under 40, Scannell’s practice centers around the restructuring of companies in and out of bankruptcy, debtors' and creditors' rights, and debtor-in-possession financers.
