Partner Greg Neppl was quoted in an article in The Deal Pipeline, “DOJ Risks Restrictive Vertical Merger Precedent With AT&T Appeal,” about the likelihood that the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division will appeal a district court judge’s decision to approve AT&T’s $85.4 billion acquisition of Time Warner.
Even with a vertical transaction, Neppl said, the new entity could alter business practices, terminate contracts and change corporate behavior in ways that complicate divestitures.
