Neuberger Honored with Daily Business Review’s Distinguished Leader Award
Of Counsel Mark Neuberger will be honored as a Distinguished Leader by the Daily Business Review at its annual Professional Excellence Awards event. The awards recognize distinguished members of the South Florida legal community for their work for clients and in their communities.
Neuberger, a co-chair of Foley’s Cannabis Industry Team and a member of the firm’s labor and employment practice, was honored in part for his leadership helping clients navigate the complex legal issues surrounding the cannabis industry since Florida legalized medical marijuana in 2016. He also has carved out a unique niche in making standard and complex legal issues interesting and relatable through unique presentations and clever headlines, such as “Mary Jane and Willie are Coming to Work. What Will you Do?”
Neuberger is also a leader in the community, providing pro bono services as general counsel for the Coconut Grove Art Fair, the country’s largest outdoor arts festival. From volunteering at the fair, including selling doughnuts and emceeing the cooking demonstrations, to assisting with legal claims such as damaged art and vendor disputes, and supporting the Fair’s student scholarships initiatives, Neuberger has provided a critical service and played an instrumental role in the Fair’s success for 20 years. Neuberger has also represented young children as an attorney ad litem in contentious proceedings in Juvenile Court dependency hearings.
The annual Professional Excellence Awards event is scheduled for October 2020.
