Partner Nate Lacktman was quoted in a Law360 article, “Predictions For How Telehealth Will Evolve In 2021,” offering five predictions as to what legal changes telemedicine and digital health companies might expect to see this year.
Lacktman, who chairs the firm’s national Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team, said there will be more efforts to increase reciprocity and reduce barriers, more technology-neutral telemedicine laws, a greater sensitivity to the patient as consumer, a continued takedown of companies engaged in telefraud, and an expansion of telehealth reimbursement.
Time will tell how his predictions will hold up over the next 12 months, he said. “What is certain, however, is that telemedicine and virtual care continues to be one of the fastest-growing areas in health care,” he added.
