Daniel Kaplan Comments on OSHA Vaccine Mandate
Partner Daniel Kaplan was quoted in a Milwaukee Business Journal article, Labor law attorneys suggest employers should prep for compliance with OSHA vaccine, testing mandates, regarding how employers should prepare to implement the policy.
OSHA issued a new mandate November 4, requiring organizations with 100 or more employees to either mandate Covid-19 vaccines for workers or test workers weekly. Employers have until January 4, 2022, to comply by mandating vaccines or requiring weekly testing of unvaccinated employees.
Kaplan commented on the likelihood of employers complying with the mandate, indicating that some will choose the option of testing in order to lessen the risk of having workers leave the organization.
“There’s a great fear among many employers that a vaccine mandate will result in a mass exodus of labor,” Kaplan said.
He added that employers will likely face some obstacles and expenses if they choose the weekly testing option.
