Lynn Parins Discusses the Department of Energy’s $2.5 Billion Transmission Funding Program
Foley & Lardner LLP Senior Counsel Lynn Parins was featured in the article, “DOE plans to buy capacity on proposed power lines in first step for $2.5B transmission funding program,” in Utility Dive discussing how the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proposed funding could help transmission development and the potential impact on investor appetite.
“If the DOE is doing [funding] in smaller increments, perhaps that’s enough in any given project to give outside investors a little more comfort that what they’re investing in is a viable transmission project,” Parins said. He continued to say that any federal investment in transmission through the transmission funding program would be helpful for grid development, and that this “[is] good news overall.”
