Dr. Jun Young Kim has drafted and prosecuted patent applications in numerous areas, including semiconductor devices, optical and photonic devices, imaging systems, LIDAR systems, power generation systems, building systems, wireless communications, etc. Jun has extensive research experience in electrical engineering and computational materials science, including semiconductor devices and fabrication processes, design of nanostructures for photonic applications, and computational modeling of advanced materials. He has published seven lead-authored and over ten co-authored articles in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of semiconductor physics and materials science.

Jun fulfilled his military service as a Republic of Korea Army officer at the Korea Military Academy, where he was appointed as an assistant professor and taught undergraduate physics.
