Seth Newman is a veteran patent practitioner passionate about developing new strategies and employing analytics to expedite the patent prosecution process. He brings over 10 years of patent prosecution experience to his role as a senior patent agent in Foley’s Electronics Practice Group.

Seth drafts and prosecutes patent applications related to various technologies, including digital pathology, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), quantum computing, large language models (LLM), radioactive power systems, space-based communication networks, and more. He has experience performing due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses to determine patentability and viability, conducting prior art searches to assess potential infringement issues, and drafting appeal briefs and patent owner responses for post-grant proceedings.

Before joining Foley, Seth was a senior patent agent at an international law firm, where he also helped recruit new technical advisors.
