Partner Christopher Swift was quoted in a Washington Times article, “Best for All Parties: Trump To Snub Putin at G-20 Summit” about President Trump’s last-minute decision not to meet with Vladimir Putin at the G-20 summit in the wake of escalating tensions between Russia and the Ukraine.
The only reason for Trump to meet with Putin would be to threaten an enhanced U.S. military presence in the region, which the Trump administration does not appear ready to take, Swift said.
“You can’t let the Russians set the agenda, and sometimes talking for the sake of talking isn’t a good outcome,” he added.
