Partner Chris McKenna was quoted in an Inside Counsel article, “The Whys and Wherefores of Trade Secrets,” on March 5, 2015. The article discusses the importance of trade secret protection and provided ways to determine if a company should be utilizing trade secret IP protection. McKenna was quoted saying, “One way to look at it is that trade secrets are essentially a more valuable subset of confidential information. It’s proprietary, confidential information that companies protect through contractual safeguards and has certain economic value in keeping it a secret. The type of things typically protected includes technical and business information, like software source code, design documentation, technical specifications and product roadmaps.”
