Gardere Partner Peter S. Vogel, chair of the Firm's Internet, eCommerce and Technology Team, along with General Datatech LP General Counsel John Ansbach, authored the article "IoT-Derived Information is Available in E-Discovery" for Texas Lawyer. The article discusses the impact of IoT (Internet of Things) devices on e-discovery and provides three hypotheticals of how IoT-derived information might be available in a case.
Mr. Vogel and Mr. Ansbach conclude the article stating that "it is incumbent on lawyers to know what IoT devices are involved in their cases and what IoT data those devices are generating in order to discover critical information to prove their case or defend their clients."
