SanDisk Corporation is pioneering technology that will allow viewers to download media content from a PC onto a flash drive and then play it on their television. James D. Nguyen, a partner in Foley’s Los Angeles office, authored the article, “The Moving Picture,” which was published in a recent issue of New Matter. Nguyen discussed future implications of this technology on copyright protection, licensing and fair use. He said that while consumers need more control of their content, IP lawyers and their clients will be more involved in the legal aspect of providing this.
