Tantleff Published in Legaltech News About Equifax Breach Under the GDPR
October 2, 2017
Partner Aaron Tantleff authored a Legaltech News article, “Equifax Breach Affects 143M: How Would GDPR Have Impacted the Disclosure?” about the potential implications of such a breach under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, which is set to take effect on May 25, 2018. Under the GDPR, virtually any company that does business in Europe or handles the personal data of EU residents will normally be required to notify the authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware of such a breach or face a possible administrative fine of up to 10 million Euros or up to two percent of its annual global turnover, Tantleff wrote.
