Partners Cleta Mitchell and Theodore H. (Ted) Bornstein provided an overview of the new ethics and lobbying laws adopted by Congress within the last week, including:
- Changes to the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995: lobbying registration and disclosure rules
- New required filings by each registered lobbyist (separate from a firm’s client filings)
- Final House and Senate ethics rules
- Changes to the Foreign Agents Registration Act
