Agenda

March 18-20, 2009

Partner Daniel Kaplan is speaking at the fifth annual LEAP Symposium, March 18 - 20, 2009, at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. This symposium will feature more than 40 HR and employment law professionals who will address practical strategies to comply with the latest employment law mandates.

Mr. Kaplan will join two other presenters on March 19, 2009, from 1:30 – 2:15 p.m., for a session titled "MySpace, Your Liability? Blogs, Web-Surfing, IMs and Workplace Privacy Rights in an Increasingly Open World.” As a result of numerous developments in technology, there is more information about everyone available than ever before. Some of this is posted without our knowledge, but frequently workers voluntarily provide this information on sites such as MySpace. This session aims to answer questions such as: How much of this data can – or should – be used by employers? Further, what privacy rights do workers have with respect to electronic communications while at work?
