Daugherty discusses guaranteed annuity policies, stating that it would be irresponsible to suggest that a retiree rely exclusively on guaranteed annuities. He notes that those with significant assets are advised to have some risky assets to exceed inflation and generate portfolio growth, adding that investors must also consider the credit risk associated with annuities.
