Foley Partner Kathryn Trkla was quoted in an article that appeared in the June 29, 2010 issue of Energy Risk titled “Energy sector awaits regulatory clarity.” Trkla discusses the uncertainty surrounding the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) interpretation of financial reform legislation passed by a US Congressional Committee. She states that it is difficult to know at this point how the lines will be drawn by regulators of derivatives trading, adding that it will depend on how the CFTC and other regulators interpret the rules laid out in the legislation.
