Partner Irwin Raij appeared live on the FOX Business Network’s “Opening Bell with Maria Bartiromo” on April 30, 2014, to discuss the controversy surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers basketball franchise over comments made by Clippers Owner Donald Sterling. The segment examined the impact to the Clippers franchise and broader sports industry of the lifetime suspension on Sterling issued by the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Raij explained that the NBA brand is incredibly popular, which is what prompted Commissioner Adam Silver to take such strong action, sending a clear message of leadership early in his tenure. He also commented on how team valuations have soared in recent years, as illustrated in the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings sales, saying the Clippers could “easily go for more” than current projections.
