Mason, who co-founded the start-up incubator Catapult Chicago, was quoted saying, “A new technology startup doesn’t need and can’t afford custom legal documents and may not be able to pay until the idea proves out.” Given how some law firms such as Foley offer fee-alignment plans to early-stage companies, he discussed the importance of entrepreneurs addressing legal issues early on.
