Partner Michael Overly was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article, “U.S. Surveillance Backlash Could Cost Tech Companies More Than $35 Billion by 2016,” on June 9, 2015. The article discussed how widespread government data surveillance practices are likely to increase costs for cloud computing and other technology companies. Overly, who has represented cloud providers to establish a presence in other countries because of concerns about spying, was quoted saying, “As the Snowden documents have shown, the U.S. government has a long arm when it comes to data monitoring and collection.”
