Senior Counsel Lauren Valiente was interviewed in a Bay News 9 segment discussing business opportunities for entrepreneurs in Cuba. Valiente was quoted saying, “Restaurants are one of the approved private businesses. Computer programmers are also on the list of approved private businesses. There are certain sectors where there are opportunities and it’s a matter of those who are interested figuring out how deeply those opportunities go.” She also said entrepreneurs should know the law, licenses and taxes are required by the Cuban government before embarking on new opportunities.
