Gardere Attorney, CIO Webcasts Featured in SBOT Best of Technology Series

The State Bar of Texas recently announced a number of TexasBarCLE packages as part of its “Best of Technology” webcast series. Gardere attorneys Peter S. Vogel and Edward H. Block, along with the firm’s chief information officer Ken Orgeron, have past webcasts included in the various package options.

The Best of Cyber Issues package features Vogel and Orgeron’s “Ethics in an Age of Cyber Intrusions and Social Media.” The presentation discusses the need for lawyers to be vigilant in protecting against cybercrime, especially when it comes to storing client information on the cloud.

Block and Vogel’s webcast “Cyber Risk for Clients and Lawyers” is also included in the Best of Cyber Issues option. The presentation covers what is involved in cybersecurity and how lawyers can be aware of current threats and vulnerabilities. More information on this package can be accessed here.

Vogel’s “Improved Legal Services for Your Clients Using Social Media and the Internet Tools” webcast is included in the Best of Law Office Technology option. The internet has transformed communications, and now lawyers must learn how to navigate through social media sites and use search engines to provide proper legal services to clients. In this presentation, Vogel covers specific examples of searching for data on the internet and how best use internet data to provide improved legal services. More information can be accessed here.

The Best of Technology in Courtroom series features Vogel’s webcast “What Lawyers Need to Know About E-Evidence in the Internet of Things (IoT).” This presentation includes a discussion about the definition of IoT, where IoT data is found and how to get IoT generated e-evidence based on possession, custody or control.
