Associate Archana Manwani is quoted in a HR Bartender blog post, “Employee Access to Payroll Records – Ask HR Bartender,” about whether private employers are required to provide current and former employees access to their payroll records.
Manwani said there is no federal law requiring employers to provide such access, but that many state laws do. She said employees should review their state’s agency websites to find out what their state’s requirements are.
