Partner Frank Murray was interviewed on a Bloomberg Law radio program about a judge’s order temporarily blocking Microsoft from working on a $10 billion cloud-computing contract for the Pentagon that Amazon is contesting.
Murray said it is not often that a judge will order a halt to all work while a legal challenge to the awarding of a contract is pending. “In the normal course of events, you have to make a showing that you’re likely to succeed on the merits and there is a weighing of the hardships involved as to whether it will be more prejudicial to stop the government from moving forward or to the competitor who’s trying to get the contract if the contract is not stayed,” he said.
