Partner Jeanne Gills was quoted in a National Law Journal article, “Confirmed: Cunningham Will Be Federal Circuit’s First Black Judge,” about the Senate’s confirmation of Chicago intellectual property litigator Tiffany Cunningham’s nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Gills called the appointment “phenomenal” news. “Putting race and gender aside, Tiffany is a fantastic lawyer and will be an excellent addition to this bench given her trial litigation experience and her commitment to the rule of law,” she said. “As a Black female trial lawyer, it is nice to see another glass ceiling cracked knowing that it took nearly 40 years to do so.”
