Overview

Ellen Ostrow is a senior counsel and litigation attorney in Foley & Lardner’s Salt Lake City office specializing in restructuring and bankruptcy. Ellen serves as a strategic advisor to clients to help them resolve their bankruptcy and creditors’ rights disputes in a timely, cost effective manner. Ellen has represented multiple unsecured creditors’ committees in the bankruptcies of manufacturers, event operators, and health food suppliers; Chapter 11 debtors in bankruptcies in the entertainment, mining, and housing industries; purchasers of distressed assets; and various creditors, including major power purchase agreement creditors in energy industry bankruptcies and suppliers in large retail bankruptcies.

Ellen also has experience successfully representing client in complex litigation in state and federal courts, including fraudulent transfer, voidable transaction, receivership, and Uniform Commercial Code disputes. Prior to joining the Firm, Ellen served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable William T. Thurman of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah.
