The Delegation was headed by Ruimin Xu, Director of Healthcare DBA Program, Southern Medical University of China. The Delegation leadership also included Mr. Duke (Dengkun) Chen – General Manager, Kingdee Healthcare Software Science and Technology Ltd., Mr. Li Wang – Director of Student Affairs of Humanities and Management School, Southern Medical University of China, Ms. Wenyan Ou – Deputy Director of Healthcare DBA Program, Mr. Wensong Liu – CEO of Guangzhou Baiyunshan Hospital, Mr. Zhenxiang Rong – CEO of New Rongqi Hospital, Mr. Xiangyi Zhang – Director of Orthopaedics, Hongkong University Shenzhen Hospital, and Mr. Wei Tong – CEO of People’s Hospital of Nan County.
The Delegation has been meeting with leading U.S. medical institutions including Mayo Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, The Cushing Center at Yale School of Medicine, and School of Medicine & Health Services at The George Washington University Medical Center. Mr. Vernaglia made a presentation on “Rights, Responsibilities and Health Reform: Understanding the Relationship Between Hospital and Patient in the U.S. Health Care System,” a copy of which is attached. There was a general discussion of the opportunities and challenges facing the delivery of healthcare services in China and the U.S. as well as the relationship between third party providers, government providers and hospital institutions. In addition to Messrs. Vernaglia and Sacks, Adria Warren greeted the Delegation, Ellen Wong provided interpreter services during the remarks and discussion, and Yili Khamly provided Mandarin translation of and written materials.
