The Legal Impact of Marriage Equality: New Frontiers, New Issues

Gardere litigation attorney Frederick W. Sultan IV will serve as course director for the Dec. 7 CLE, “The Legal Impact of Marriage Equality: New Frontiers, New Issues.” The CLE, which provides 6.5 hours of credit including one hour of ethics, is available in-person at the Texas Law Center in Austin, Texas and online via a live webcast.
This course offers the latest tips, tools and updates on new and quickly evolving LGBT legal issues since the marriage equality decision in June 2015. Topics include federal constitutional supremacy, religious exemptions and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, potential new LGBT laws and bills, transgender civil rights, and LGBT issues in the military, among others. This CLE will assist any practitioner with an LGBTQ client in spotting issues that are critical, necessary and important as this area of the law continues to change.
Sultan helps individuals and businesses throughout Texas and the U.S. with commercial litigation and appeals involving a broad range of business disputes, including employment, contract, business tort and trade secret-related claims. Sultan serves as the chair of the Austin LGBT Bar Association.
