Virtual Roundtable Discussion with Foley’s Sports & Entertainment Group attorneys sharing the results from the 3rd Annual Esports Survey, recently conducted by Foley & Lardner LLP and The Esports Observer.
The 2020 survey report draws upon responses from hundreds of executives involved in sports, media & entertainment to explore perceptions on the current state of esports and what lies ahead at a crucial moment in its evolution. These industry insiders believe the spotlight afforded by COVID–19–related shutdowns and restrictions in traditional sports will generate increased investment and deal activity for esports in the near term. Yet, as the third annual Esports Survey Report shows, even esports isn’t immune to the pandemic’s effects.
The report identifies the opportunities and challenges ahead for this young industry. While concerns remain about important matters such as match–fixing and cheating, along with myriad legal issues as esports becomes increasingly sophisticated, strong revenue and viewership numbers in 2020 appear to have given executives confidence that esports is on solid footing, and that the industry is well–equipped to navigate the road ahead.
Please RSVP to join the roundtable discussion, which we hope will be an informative and interactive experience for all.
