Partner Jaime Guerrero stated that robust internal reporting programs are likely to become increasingly essential for companies to avoid violating the requirements enforced by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Office of the Whistleblower. Guerrero also discussed elements of a comprehensive internal reporting program, including a hotline for reporting misconduct as well as guidelines that provide anonymity for whistleblowers and protect them against retaliation.
