In response to COVID-19, Foley & Lardner hosted its first ever fully-virtual summer associate program this year in 16 offices across the country. While this was certainly different than the in-person program we are accustomed to and anticipated, our recruiting team developed a six week all-virtual program of substantive training, networking activities, and work opportunities to help our summer associates learn more about Foley, our people, our culture, and the legal services we provide to our clients.
Training topics included legal writing, professional presence, wellness, diversity & inclusion, as well as practice group overviews, and our programming provided summer associates an opportunity to hear from our Chairman, Managing Partner, Department Chairs, Pro Bono Chairs, Affinity Group Chairs, Legal Talent & Development team, administrative leadership, and more. To help our summer associates meet each other and our attorneys, we hosted a variety of social networking events, including a scavenger hunt, trivia, yoga, a cooking competition, coffee breaks, and a comedy night.
We enjoyed getting to know each of our summer associates over the last few weeks and hope they had a terrific experience with the firm this summer. We look forward to our 1Ls returning to Foley next summer and to our 2Ls joining us as associates following law school graduation!
